Founded in 1933, Martin Guitars has led the acoustic guitar scene, building numerous reputations and creating legends along the way. The masterpieces born throughout its history continue to shine as vintage guitars, cherished and loved even after many years.
Modern Martin guitars, while producing the latest models, firmly retain their heritage, and with recent advancements in technology, have revived numerous models that feel like a step back in time. Among these, the "Authentic Series" stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship and has garnered significant attention in recent years. This particular instrument is the "D-28
Authentic 1941," a faithful reproduction of the 1941
"D-28." It is a used item from 2013. It features a vintage gloss finish with a low sheen that creates a vintage-like atmosphere. This guitar features an Adirondack spruce top, Madagascar rosewood sides and back (now difficult to obtain), a genuine mahogany neck, ebony bridge, oval Waverly open-back tuners, Madagascar rosewood veneer, slotted diamond square fingerboard inlays, a painted Del Mar pickguard, herringbone purfling, ivoroid binding, a zigzag backstrip, a steel T-bar truss rod, hide glue construction, and a 1941-style rear-shifted scalloped X-bracing top. Every detail, from the headstock thickness and backstrip to the fingerboard thickness, side panel crack reinforcement, and fingerboard end and bridge shape, has been faithfully reproduced. The serial stamp is also designed to look exactly like the original, making this a truly unique and meticulously crafted remake. It delivers a fat attack, a clear and well-defined core, and a pure sound where the resonance of the wood directly reaches your body. This guitar boasts a crisp, driven sound with the rich, full tone characteristic of Adirondack spruce.
While there are some minor scratches and light scuffs but, it remains in very good condition.
The string height is set to a standard height, allowing for easy playing even with a flat pick, and the playability is excellent. Of course, the saddle has ample adjustment range, allowing for a setup suitable for fingerpicking.
This is a highly refined instrument that clearly demonstrates the progress of Martin guitars. Please take a look. Includes original hard case
